Community Advocates
Community Advocates
We are looking for dedicated and empathetic Community Advocates to join our team and support our mission of fostering awareness and empowering action to help tackle Honour Based Abuse in the community.
As a community advocate you will play a vital role in engaging with members of the public to better understand what behaviours constitute honour-based abuse. These range from forced marriage to female genital mutilation, virginity testing and more general behaviours including assault and coercive and controlling behaviour where honour is the motive. You will also be working to signpost support that is available for victims or potential victims. Your passion for social impact and your strong communication skills will be essential in quickly building meaningful connections that help drive positive social change.
If you are passionate about supporting your community and have experience of working with honour-based abuse victims or working with communities more generally, we strongly encourage you to apply.
This is a voluntary role with expenses covered (up to £2500) over a 6 week period.
Closing date: Wednesday 25th October 2023.
